The programme leads to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Management awarded by Asia Metropolitan University. The programme is nationally accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency under MQA/FA10029, while Asia Metropolitan University operates as a recognised higher education institution in Malaysia under DU054(J).

FULL-TIME STUDY & STUDENT VISA

International candidates may pursue the programme through full-time study in Malaysia with a Student Pass. Candidates undertaking the full-time visa pathway attend the university campus, complete the required immigration and medical procedures, participate in the initial research activities and commence academic engagement with their appointed supervisor.

Student Pass holders are subject to the applicable requirements and regulations of Malaysian immigration and relevant authorities.

RESEARCH JOURNEY & PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The doctoral journey begins with Advanced Research Methodology, followed by the development of a Research Plan and participation in the first research colloquium. Candidates then prepare and defend their Research Proposal before progressing to the main doctoral research and thesis stage.

The later stages include further research development, a second colloquium and the final thesis defence before the academic panel of Asia Metropolitan University in Malaysia.

The recognised full-time study duration is 3 to 6 years, subject to academic progress and university regulations.

SUPERVISION & RESEARCH SUPPORT

Candidates are assigned academic supervision to support the development of their doctoral research from the early research-planning stage through thesis completion. The programme is designed to progressively develop advanced research capability in management and related disciplines.

RESEARCH OUTPUT & THESIS COMPLETION

Doctoral candidates are expected to conduct original research, complete a doctoral thesis and successfully defend their work before the university’s academic panel. ACADEMIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants are normally required to hold a recognised Master’s degree in a relevant field with a CGPA of 3.0, or another qualification considered equivalent and acceptable by Asia Metropolitan University.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

International applicants may demonstrate English proficiency through recognised qualifications such as IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 60, Pearson Test of English 59, or Cambridge English 169.

Certain applicants may qualify for an exemption based on previous English-language education, subject to documentary evidence and university approval. Where applicable, candidates without the required English certificate may be permitted additional time to fulfil the requirement.
